Dear friend,
Are you ready to improve your health and well-being and become a healthier you? How often have you heard the saying, the good things in life are free, yet we neglect this simple but profound message. Daily we are bombarded by various advertisements beseeching us to use this and use that to enhance our well-being.
With our focus on the externals, we neglect the most fundamental voice that there is, our body, which speaks to us constantly if only we would but listen. Unfortunately, sometimes it requires severe pain or an illness for us to take heed.
In these times of rapid change, you need to take time for yourself. Whether, you are in a 9 to 5 job or a stay at home mom, you need to find some time to nurture you. When you give away all of your energy to others and nothing is coming back, you become exhausted and burned out.
Unfortunately, many people don’t manage their energy very well, so it is important that you give back to yourself. Do not let a day go by without taking some time for yourself – some time you spend in pure pleasure as you see it. Do something that nurtures you. This doesn’t have to be something that involves money, it might be a walk in the countryside or just lying on the grass and watching the clouds roll by. These forms of relaxation are very nurturing.
No matter your age or your physical condition, (if you are reading these words you are exercising your eyes) you can improve your health and well-being and live a more abundant life.
So here is a snap shot summary of the top 9 tips to help you become a healthier you:
1) Bring laughter into your life daily
2) Organize a community, club, school, or company walk
3) Integrate some meatless meals, with vegetarian protein from beans, peas, and legumes
4) If you are overweight, underweight, or obese, consult a nutritionist about changing your dietary practices and food choices
5) Exercise while you do your housework or yard work, and involve your whole family
6) Volunteer and help the less fortunate, you’ll feel much better about your life
7) Drink six to eight glasses of water, more if you are exercising or playing sports
8) Engage in fun activities you can do by yourself or with family and friends: run, skip, play games, dance, hike
9) Take up tai chi or some form of martial arts for mind, body, soul balancing, stretching exercises and feeling at one with nature
